Sync Config Guide

This guide will help you set up our Sync Configuration Widget to integrate our product catalog into your Shopify store efficiently.

Note: Follow the steps below to retrieve the necessary fields for the setup.

1. Find Your Store Name

Your store name is in the URL of your Shopify admin panel.

2. Get Location ID

You need to select an inventory location. There are two options:

  • Option 1: Use a dedicated HRD location
  • Option 2: Use your default Shopify location (If choosing this option, just use the location ID from your default location.)

Setting Up a Dedicated HRD Location

Follow these steps if you choose to create a dedicated HRD location:

  1. Go to Settings > Locations in your Shopify admin panel.
  2. Click Add Location.
  3. Enter a location name of your choice.
  4. Set the location to California.
  5. Click Save.

Retrieving the Location ID

Once your location is set up, follow these steps to find the Location ID:

  1. Go to Settings > Locations and select the location you want to track inventory for.
  2. Look at the URL in your browser.
  3. The Location ID is the number at the end of the URL.

3. Generate an API Key

To create an API key, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps and sales channels > Develop Apps.
  2. Click Create an App and enter the following details:
  • App Name: "HRD Sync" (or any name of your choice).
  • App Developer: Default is fine.

Configure API Permissions:

Enable the following admin API scopes:

  • write_inventory + read_inventory
  • write_products + read_products

Save the settings and go to the Overview page.

Install the App and Retrieve API Key:

Click Install App on the top right corner and reveal your API key.

**Updating Listings**

If the listings on your shopify store are out dated (stock photos/descriptions) and you wish to sync the latest listing data to your Shopify store, follow these steps:

  1. Set the desired listings to Draft status.
  2. Perform the product pull again.

Only draft listings will be updated during the sync. Our script will not modify the photos/descriptions of your Active HRD listings.
